Thanks, Atlanta!

After being eliminated from NL East contention earlier this week, the Braves had just enough gumption left in themselves to eek out a win against Philly today, thereby reducing the Mets Magic Number to... One.

One.

The Mets are one win away from clinching the National League East, their first division title in 18 years.

One win.

And who do the Mets play tomorrow night, with destiny firmly held in their own hands? The pathetic Pirates. And how fitting will it be to have Pedro Martinez on the mound, the man who restored the Mets credibility two years ago, enabling Omar to sign this year's MVP candidate, Carlos Beltran? You couldn't write the script better; now the Mets just have to play it out.

I can't wait!!
