Derek Bell was pulled over by Tampa police for a traffic violation today, and wound up getting arrested when police found a still-warm crack pipe in the back seat.
Back when he was with the Mets, he was famous for riding his bicycle to the games. I guess he's given up his healthy lifestyle. Derek Bell was instrumental in helping the Mets get to the World Series in 2000 by going down with an injury and allowing Timo Perez to play full time.
Bell is now being held in a Tampa jail on $2,500 bail.
