Scott Kazmir struck out seven in 5 and 2/3 innings, allowing one run on four hits, including a solo shot by Dustan Mohr, but left the game in the sixth inning with muscle cramps in his left thumb.
The Devil Rays won the game 5-1, aided by two home runs by Jonny Gomes and a double by Ty Wigginton.
