The Mets battered Livan Hernandez and The Expos today, including four homeruns off the starter, winning 13-4. The Mets record is now 7 and 1, and Victor Zambrano won his first start of the season. Anderson Hernandez had the day off, and replacement Chris Woodward made the most of the start, with two hits and 3 RBIs on the afternoon.
Next up on the docket is the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers have had a tough series in St. Louis, losing the first two games but showing some chutzpah by beating Jason Isringhausen in extra innings today.
For those not ready to jump on the Mets bandwagon just yet, the next 16 games of the season should tell us what these Mets are made of, as they face the Brewers, Braves, Padres, Giants and Braves again before starting another series against the Gnats on May 1.
Lets Go Mets!
